BlytheLamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe is currently on American soil following his release from a Czech Republic prison on Thursday.  Although his band cancelled their summer co-headline tour with Dethklok, they will play the Knotfest shows on August 17th in Iowa and August 18th in Wisconsin.  They are currently lining up dates for a U.S. Tour to start in October; dates and cities will be announced soon.

According to a press release from Lamb Of God’s PR firm, Randy will be making a public statement discussing his time in Prague and to thank fans for their support in the next week.  Blythe gave his first post-prison interview to Czech outlet TV Nova while at the airport.  In the interview, he maintained that he is not a flight risk, spoke about what he did with his time in prison, and expressed his overall sadness over the case.  He also is willing to return when the case goes to court to clear his name.  You can view that clip HERE.   

 

KissKISS will release their 20th studio album, "Monster," on October 16.  Described in a press release as a "12-track, straight-ahead rock 'n' roll album," the disc was produced by Paul Stanley with Greg Collins.  According to Gene Simmons, "there are no symphony orchestras, boy choirs, keyboards, outside producers or songwriters on this album.  The best thing we did was to turn inwards to ourselves.  Tommy and Eric have revitalized this band, with a work ethic and the talent to back it up.  This is a real band effort.  KISS has become a behemoth.  We're going where no bands have gone before."

DioA second "Best of Dio" compilation will be released in October.  The collection, titled "The Very Beast of Dio Volume 2," picks up exactly where the first volume left off, from 1996 onward, and will include bonus tracks "Electra," (the only track to be released from “Magica II”) "Prisoner of Paradise," (which was a bonus track on the Japanese edition of “Master Of The Moon”) and "Metal Will Never Die" (the track he recorded with cousin David Rock Feinstein)

Slipknot's greatest-hits package, "Antennas To Hell," sold more than 16,000 copies its first week of release to land at position No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart.  The collection is the first release from the band since the passing of bassist Paul Gray in 2010.  They are currently putting together demos for a new  album and hope to begin recording next year.

 

The Monsters Of Rock Cruise will embark on its second voyage from March 16 to March 20, 2013. Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this cruise will visit the private island of CocoCay, and Nassau, Bahamas with a bonus day at sea. Iron Maiden have landed at position No. 3 on Billboard.com's "Hot Tours" list of top-grossing tours this week with $4.8 million in ticket sales from seven performances on their 2012 tour through North America.

The band Rise To Remain, with frontman Austin Dickinson, Bruce Dickinson's eldest son, have recorded a cover of Metallica's classic song Enter Sandman.  The track was originally featured on a completion included with the June 20 issue of U.K.'s Kerrang! Magazine.  You can check it out HERE.

 

ExtremeExtreme will start working on a new album later this year.  They recently completed tours in Japan, Russia, and China.  The forthcoming studio disc will be the follow-up to their 2008 reunion album "Saudades de Rock," which was supported by a world tour, during which they recorded the 2010 live CD/DVD “Take Us Alive.”  The band features founding members Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt, and Pat Badger, with new drummer Kevin Figueiredo.  For the record, former Extreme drummers are doing quite well these days; Paul Geary ran a management company in Boston which handled many bands, including Godsmack, and is currently a senior manager at Front Line Management Group in Los Angeles.  Mike Mangini is currently in Dream Theater.

 

The 11th Season of "That Metal Show" will kick off next Saturday, August 11 with guests David Draiman of Disturbed and Russell Allen, Mike Orlando, and Mike Portnoy of Adrenaline Mob.  Other guests for the season will include Aerosmith's Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford, Iron Maiden's Steve Harris, Chickenfoot's Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, Zakk Wylde, and Geoff Tate.
